Departure at 9:00 from Marseille by private bus to Château La Coste (45 minute drive), a famous winery and destination featuring remarkable art and architecture. We will tour the art center by Tadao Ando as well as the gardens, olive groves and vineyards, discovering works of art and architecture by Renzo Piano, Frank Gehry, Jean Nouvel, Richard Serra and Jean Prouvé. We’ll finish the visit over a relaxing lunch at the Château.
Possibility to leave after lunch by private bus to the airport for those who need to catch an afternoon / early evening flight. We can get you to the airport by 16:00.
For those with more time, the program will continue with a visit of Aix-en-Provence (15 minute bus ride), a stunning university city of 150 000 inhabitants, established by the Romans in 122 BC, whose association with water gave the city its original name “Aquae Sextiae”. Aix-en Provence could be considered a perfectly harmonious urban space with its Renaissance limestone architecture, outdoor markets and terraces - a postcard image of the Provence region.
We will also visit the new cultural district (2000-2013) by Gregotti, Ricciotti and Kengo Kuma as well as recent projects that have shaped the city's evolution in this historically rich landscape.
Participants can return to Marseille at the end of the day or directly to the airport / train station (30 minutes). Connections are convenient by public transportation, making it possible to spend more or less time in the city, or even spend the night and continue to visit this beautiful region individually.
