The French section was hosted by the Kengo Kuma project team and FRENER REIFER for a visit of the new Saint-Denis-Pleyel Metro Station near the site of the 2024 Paris Olympic village https://kkaa.co.jp/en/project/saint-denis-pleyel-station/.
In the words of the Architect: “The station is softly wrapped in a curtain wall made of oak, and the 30-meter-deep atrium that accesses the four metro lines is also entirely covered in wood, creating a soft and warm space that contrasts with the conventional stations made of concrete and steel. The rooftop garden reconnects the divided neighbourhoods, and the wooden atrium reconnects the earth to the sky”.
The building envelope is a perfect demonstration of the quality and technical capabilities of Frener Reifer, AIA Europe’s newest Corporate Partner. Please visit their website to learn more about this project as well as many other remarkable structures that they have completed throughout Europe and abroad.
Many thanks to the Kengo Kuma project team and Frener Reifer (Marco Aprà, Project Manager, and Maria Fink, Marketing Manager), for the organization of this memorable event!
